Another CAF aircaft in attendance at Aviation Nation 2014 was F6F-5 Hellcat. The Southern California's F6F-5 Hellcat is restored in the markings of Cmdr. David McCampbell, USN, Air Group Commander of VF-19 on the USS Essex during WWII. Cmdr McCampbell was credited with 34 victories and was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor .
