A pair of Ryan PT-22's N53271 and N48777 part of the trainer parade. I think the P-22 is one of sharpest looking aircraft out there, glad to see them flying. Miramar 2012.

I have to agree with you! These aircraft are fantastic looking machines, especially when their polished up like these two. I do love their agricultural sound too. Their inline engined older siblings are also a beautiful looking aircraft.

Fantastic shot as always! :)

Thanks Daniel. Can you tell me the designation of the inline variant so I can look them up?

Well there are several variants with inline engines but if you google "Ryan ST" you should find what you are looking for. Actually the PT-22 is a Ryan ST too. The civil designation of the Ryan PT-22 is the Ryan ST3-KR. KR standing for the Kinner Radial which powers it.

I don't know if they still have it any more......but Hemet normally has a Ryan owners "fly-in" every year. As Hemet-Ryan was a major training base during the war, it is also where I used to keep my T-6G.
